TOURNAMENTS

Guided by the leadership of Grandmaster Mackenzie Molner, the Dwight-Englewood School Academic Chess Tournaments are underway! Hosting four Chess Tournaments annually for students throughout the tri-state region (CT, NJ & NY), registration for the remaining 3 is open!
Chess Tournaments allow students to improve their strategic and critical thinking skills through applied performance. Tournaments at D-E are open to young chess players in grades K-8 who want to be part of competitive Chess. Students will be awarded prizes for their participation.
Chess Tournaments are certified through the United States Chess Federation (USCF). Students must register with USCF to participate in the event and to receive a rating. Click here to join. (There is a fee for the annual membership).
*You do not need to register again if you have already registered with USCF for the current academic year.

Who: Participation will be open in the following grade categories:
- Section 1: Kind –1st Grade
- Section 2: 2nd – 3rd Grade
- Section 3: 4th – 5th Grade
- Section 4: 6th – 8th Grade
Fee: $75 Online registration is required for all participants.
