A Bishop from Hell; Carlsson vs Sokolov 2014
Sometimes the most gratifying wins are the ones when your opponent plays a great game but you manage to narrowly best them. It feels like a truly deserving victory. In this game, we will see GM Pontus Carlsson gradually outplay the higher rated GM Ivan Sokolov with a brilliant positional queen sacrifice. Carlsson does a great job building up his position and slowly increasing the pressure. Sokolov defends very well for the majority of the game but misses a brilliant and almost invisible defense. You are in for a treat with this game!
